Scott Mielock - Assistant Instructor
✨ Meet Scott ✨
Assistant Instructor • Performer • Actor • Veteran
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Scott began his professional journey shortly after graduating in 1990, when he joined the United States Navy as a Reservist working as an Aviation Structural Mechanic. It didn’t take long for him to recognize that Active-Duty service was the path he had been seeking. He volunteered for the elite Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) program, undertaking more than 18 months of arduous, highly specialized training in Underwater Diving, Air Operations (including rappelling, casting, and parachuting), Patrol and Tactics, and comprehensive small-arms weapons instruction.
Over the course of numerous global deployments—including six in direct support of wartime operations involving active combat—Scott earned multiple medals and citations, among them the Bronze Star Medal with Combat “V” for Valor. Rising through the ranks to Chief Warrant Officer 3, he completed 27 years of distinguished Active-Duty service before retiring from the Navy. He is the proud father of three children: Krystle, Montana, and Tyler.
Following his military retirement, Scott continued his service to the nation within the Department of Homeland Security as a United States Border Patrol Agent. During his 3–4 years in the field, he played a direct role in disrupting critical sex and weapons trafficking routes entering Texas from Mexico, as well as conducting significant drug interdiction operations. His expertise later led to his selection for the Department of Homeland Security’s Explosive Specialist Division. In 2024, Scott transitioned out of Federal Government, culminating a combined total of approximately 35 years of dedicated service to the United States of America.
Scott’s passion for the performing arts began unexpectedly. While training in Ballroom and Latin dance, he met his wife, Melinda Mielock, the owner and lead instructor of Just Dance On Ballroom and Latin Dance Studio. As he continued to grow as a dancer, Scott’s military assignments happened to place him in several countries—including England, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain—where he was introduced to many different cultures related to dance. Those experiences, though incidental to his service, broadened his perspective and deepened his appreciation for the performing arts. During this time, he was introduced to film acting—an art form that immediately resonated with him. Though he had no formal acting training, Scott found that his military and federal service had instilled in him a natural presence, discipline, and emotional depth that translated powerfully on screen.
As an actor, Scott has appeared in Hawaii Five-0, House of Cards, several short films and commercials, and AMC’s TURN—where he performed alongside Jamie Bell, blending his acting work with his dance and movement background. He also held a supporting role opposite Bill Moseley (Army of Darkness) in the feature film The Possession Experiment (2016). His most recent film, Mary for Mayor (2020), features him alongside Vincent Duvall and Cameron Protzman and is available on Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, and Vudu.
A proud member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), Scott continues to expand his artistic reach. He is currently developing additional television, film, and theater projects, driven by the same passion, curiosity, and commitment that have defined every chapter of his career.
✨ Dedicated. Experienced. Passionate about helping dancers grow. ✨
